10 months weeks 2&3

Last week instead of sitting at work waiting on the next problem to solve, I was driving and spending time with family. So there's lots of pictures :)

We had our first Father's Day of course that was the day after I posted last time. I got my pictures out of order somewhat. The next to last picture is Father's Day. It was a nice day. Just hung out and had family time.

Xavier and I also went to Rob's office on Monday, the day after Father's Day (the last picture) and hung out there.

I honestly don't remember a whole lot about the rest of the week. Just more baby fun times.

A week ago today was a lot of fun having Xavier and Sammy playing together and seeing how they'd both grown and everything. I don't have any pictures on my phone of that but it was a good time.

It was fun seeing a baby that actually likes to eat. BJ and Emily tried to get Xavier to eat some but he still would not. However it did make me realize that Xavier is almost a year old. He doesn't eat. This is going to be the most boring 1st birthday ever! No messy cake face. :( So, that means that this week has been kicked into high gear "get Xavier to eat."

I've been trying every day to give him a little something. On Sunday or Monday (I don't remember which) I made toast and cut it into pieces some just plain, some with butter and one piece with a very thin layer of peanut butter. On another day I made him a scrambled egg yolk and cut an apple up and peeled it and put a piece in his silicone feeder. He seemed to like that. He didn't eat the toast. He did play with it though. The egg he didn't touch. I tried to put a little in his mouth to try and he gagged to the point of vomiting.

That's what he does when you put anything in his mouth. He gags and then vomits. He also has a bad habit of trying to eat paper and other things that also make him gag and vomit. I'm a little worried, but I don't really know what to do.

In not so disgusting news, we have officially moved to 18 month clothes. It looks so much better and I think it was the right move.

I don't remember what day it was... Maybe Wednesday? I had a scary experience. Xavier was crawling around and went to one of his favorite spots, the big sliding glass door windows at the back of the dining room. I heard him scream like he was in pain. I jumped up and went to check him and couldn't see anything wrong. He had crawled up on top of the air vent and then I guess it started blowing while he was on top of it. I guess it just scared him and was cold because he had his bare belly on the cold metal and air.

We also had an interesting development. He now can climb stairs. Or at least one stair. And regularly is standing against flat surfaces like doors and walls.

And finally, the newest frustration is that where he plays with the cabinet doors. And consequently pinches fingers. I don't know how many times I can tell him "be careful! You'll pinch your fingers." But I guess it doesn't translate to a 10 month old.

And also cute story Rob texted me from today:
"Cute story from this morning.  I wake up to find him sittingish next to me reading the darth vader [and son] [book] upside down aloud to himself." So adorable! I would have loved to see that.

Anyway, here's some pictures!

In the car on the way home after lots of fun with family chewing on my keychain.

"Rawr!" trying to take his picture of a new outfit.

gamer baby playing with a controller.

Not happy with having his picture taken. "Please stop mommy!!"

Looking at Daddy's Father's Day card.

We like to play standing up now. Put the legs on the music table.

Sorry this picture is so badly washed out. I took this picture to show how long he is. It won't be too much longer before he won't fit on my lap to nurse any longer.

This was a little collage I made of the pictures of Xavier eating a cookie.

Here's Xavier eating his apple in the feeder and totally not eating his scrambled egg.

Newest development is enjoying standing at doors as well.

Climbing stairs.

Rob sent me this picture of how Xavier put himself for napping one day.

Xavier enjoyed seeing himself in Rob's phone when he did a reverse camera.

"I miss mommy so much! Come home soon!!"

10 months 1 week

This last week has been kind of fun. Sunday the 9th we went on a little road trip. We got to see some old friends, some new friends, pick up a custom made cloth diaper. Fun times!

Just an FYI, hopefully next Saturday I will be on the road going to see Xavier's cousin for his birthday, so I might not have a post.

This week Xavier has started taking his bottles better. Maybe a growth spurt on the way? He also is doing more and more standing. And at night when I'm trying to get his bottles ready he's taken to holding on to my pants legs. It's cute, and frustrating at the same time. Frustrating because I'm afraid to move much because I'm afraid to knock him over. He still doesn't stand on his own or anything though.

I don't have a lot in the way of just general talking that I can do really. So we'll focus on the pictures.

10 months!

Another month down. I can't believe that in just 2 months, Xavier will be a year old! This year has gone by so quickly. Possibly even faster than last year. Though I'm not completely sure.

This week I didn't take a lot of pictures for some reason. Not sure why. We did have a learning experience though. I'll explain more when I get to that picture.

We're continuing to learn how to pull up on things and wanting to stand more and more. No new teeth have come through yet. Finally no longer coughing/stuffed up! And I think it was on Wednesday hands and knees crawling for the first time. But only in preparation to pull up on something. He will pop up to hands and knees to fine tune getting close to something. It's still faster to army crawl. And man is he fast with that!

Tomorrow we are going to try a little road trip by ourselves to go to the Knoxville area. We will see how that goes.

Again, not a whole lot happened this week really. Latest thing is taking a very late nap (like at 6 or 7pm) and then not wanting to go to sleep at bedtime so he's had a lot of Daddy hang out time at night.

Anyway, on to pictures.
